Former Bronxville Resident William G. Baddeley Dies November 4, 2013

Jan. 22, 2014:  Former Bronxville resident William Baddeley died on November 4, 2013, in Tennessee after a sudden and brief illness.  

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cornelia M. Baddeley; three children, William (Carolyn) Baddeley of Oakland, Tennessee, Robert (Judith) Baddeley of Yorktown Heights, New York, and Anne (Michael) Shef of Melville, New York; and six grandchildren, Carson and Nathaniel Baddeley, Michael and Stephanie Shef, and Paige and Andrew Baddeley.

Bill was born in Chicago on October 25, 1927, and was 87 at the time of his death. After graduating from Hackley School in 1946, he joined the United States Marine Corps.

He earned a BS degree in commerce from the University of Virginia. Shortly thereafter, he married Cornelia deLancey Manierre of New York. They lived in Bronxville, where they raised their three children.

He was employed as a salesman at Continental Can Company until 1986. Upon his retirement, he moved to the Charlottesville, Virginia, area.

Bill was very active in the Charlottesville community. He was passionate about helping others through various projects at his church, Church of Our Saviour, delivering for Meals on Wheels for 25 years, and through the many activities that the Charlottesville Kiwanis Club had to offer.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Church of Our Savior in Charlottesville.
