Have You Noticed the Construction Around Bronxville?

By Staff

August 10, 2022:  Have you noticed the construction around Bronxville and wondered what's going on?

In a recent column, Mayor Mary Marvin noted that streets throughout the village are being milled and repaved and the curbs are being repaired.  She also mentioned that the village tries to coordinate its projects with Con Edison "so recently paved roads do not end up subsequently being torn up for utility work."

According to an email that went out today from Village Administrator, Jim Palmer, the projects below are currently underway.

-Con Ed Gas Line Installations at Midland Avenue:  Con Ed’s third phase of the new gas line down Midland Avenue is largely complete and most work is now confined to gas service down Willow Road and Hawthorne Road will be repaved before the end of the month.

-Con Ed Gas Line Installations at Locust Lane: Gas line installation will be completed this week and remaining work will be limited to Sturgis Road. Locust Lane to be repaved later this month.

-Midland/Pondfield and Gramatan/Pondfield Traffic Signals:  The Village’s contractor Verde Electric is installing all new traffic signals and equipment at these intersections.  All efforts are being made to have a majority of the underground work completed this month.

-100 Pondfield Condominium Residences:  The reconstruction of the former storage warehouse is almost complete.  Final utility work is underway now so the site (including sidewalk, roadways) can be fully restored before September.

-Sanitary and Storm Sewer Repairs/Cleaning: Various repairs underway.

-Sidewalk Repairs and Stump Removals:  Various locations being prepped for tree replacement this fall.

Palmer thanked villagers for their "patience while these projects are completed."
