Car Drives into CVS in Bronxville

Dec. 17, 2023: On Monday December 11, 2023 at about 1:36pm a 90-year-old Yonkers resident was attempting to park his 2020 Subaru in a diagonal parking space in front of CVS at 114 Pondfield Road when he accelerated and the vehicle drove over the sidewalk and through the front sliding doors to CVS.

At the time the vehicle crashed through the front doors an 85-year-old Yonkers resident was exiting CVS and became pinned between the vehicle and the side wall to the entrance of CVS.

Police Officers Matthew Stein and Kevin Iglesias responded immediately with Detective Cheryl Jarosz. First responding Officers were able to free the victim from beneath the vehicle and stabilize her until the arrival of the Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Eastchester Fire Department.

The victim was transported to Westchester Medical Center where she was treated for a leg injury.

The Bronxville Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Eastchester and Tuckahoe Police Departments.

CVS remained closed pending replacement of the front doors.
