Gramatan Village Announces New Interim Executive Director

By Kerry Walsh, President, Gramatan Village Board of Directors

Sept. 29, 2021:  The Board of Directors of Gramatan Village is pleased to introduce Julia Schwartz-Leeper to the community as our new Interim Executive Director.  Julia will be joining the organization after the departure of Sherry Saturno. We wish Sherry all the best in her new job and thank her for her hard work on behalf of Gramatan Village.

Julia has a long career in healthcare specializing in elder care. Most recently, she was the President and CEO of Meals on Wheels of Rockland County. Prior to that position, Julia was the Chief Executive Officer of the Riverdale Senior Services. Julia is well known throughout Westchester County and New York, for her expertise and passion for community-based aging services, and as a leader in senior programs. Please join us in welcoming Julia to our community.

It has been an exciting 18 months as Gramatan Village pivoted to revise our programs and services to follow CDC guidelines while continuing to serve our members with engaging activities and essential services. We are pleased at the vote of confidence from our members as our membership has remained steady during this period.

Now we are ready to celebrate Fall with the continuation of our much-needed supportive services and programs including shopping and errands, rides to appointments, fun social and cultural outings, and much more. All these programs and services enable older adults to lead active, independent, and vibrant lives.
