Lecture on Jerusalem to Be Given by Adam Gopnik at Sarah Lawrence College Wednesday, November 30

Nov. 23, 2016:  Adam Gopnik, staff writer for the New Yorker, will present a lecture titled "Jerusalem vs. Athens and Us" on Wednesday, November 30, at 5:30 pm in the Miller Lecture Hall, Titsworth Building, at Sarah Lawrence College. 

The program, which is free and open to the public, grows out of a series of lectures Gopnik organized and hosted for The Metropolitan Museum of Art in coordination with the current exhibition Jerusalem 1000-1400: Every People Under Heaven. 

Gopnik is the author of numerous books, including The King in the Window, Through the Children’s Gate: A Home in New York, Angels and Ages: Lincoln, Darwin and The Birth of the Modern Age. Gopnik has won three National Magazine awards for essays and for criticism. A recipient of the George Polk Award for Magazine Reporting, he has written for the New Yorker since 1986.
