Letter to the Editor: Lynn Joyce on What Happened to Bronxville's 40th Super Scrambles Paddle Tournament

To the Editor:

Bronxville Village Paddle would have been celebrating its 40th Annual Super Scrambles this past weekend! This event was one of the biggest and most popular events that the Bronxville Paddle Committee has hosted for the past 40 years.

This tournament was the kick-off tournament of the season, inviting all new residents to the community and surrounding areas to join Village Paddle--many who had never played paddle before.

All levels of paddle were welcomed to participate and to join in and meet new people, learn the game, win prizes, and enjoy breakfast, lunch, and drinks. What better way than this, to bring the community and neighboring clubs in Lower Westchester together who loved this tournament.

It was an enormous success in every way and resulted in drawing many loyal members to Bronxville Village Paddle.

What a shame that such a successful community event is no longer. Many of us have been participants since the first Super Scrambles in 1973 and many have worked so hard to keep Bronxville Village Paddle the success that it has been over all these years!
