Hospice Care: Answers To Frequently Asked Questions Part 3 Print

By Abigail Sprague, Lawrence Community Health Services

Nov. 27, 2019: November is National Hospice Month, so this month Jansen Hospice & Palliative Care will provide answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about hospice care and services. This is the final of three Q & As. Here are links to the first and second Q&As.

What other types of services are offered to hospice patients?

Jansen Hospice does more than provide standard medical treatments of care. It offers a variety of complementary therapies to promote relaxation, increase comfort level, and support a sense of well being for our patients. These services enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our patients and may be used alongside a patient's unique medical plan of care.

Does Jansen offer bereavement services?

Grief is a natural and healthy response to loss but can be a very isolating experience. Jansen Hospice and Palliative Care offers families a variety of bereavement services for up to 13 months following the death of a loved one. Their expert clinical social workers, specially trained counselors, and volunteers are available to help family members through individual counseling services as well as bereavement support groups.
