Oct. 16, 2019: Better Than Cooking ("BTC") for the benefit of Jansen Hospice and Palliative Care is everyone's favorite reason to feast. But this year's event is even more delicious than ever as BTC celebrates its 20th Anniversary. The date is Oct. 23 at the Bronxville Field Club.

Twenty years ago, it started with the sale of coupons for dinner at local Bronxville restaurants. The idea was to have half of the price of the coupon go to the restaurant and the other half to Jansen.

A few years later, Michael Dolan, then executive chef at the Bronxville Field Club, gathered a small but loyal group to donate their talents and culinary mastery for an entire evening of wining and dining with all proceeds going to benefit Jansen. This core group also enlisted the help of the Club Chefs of Westchester, which is why every year, so many wonderful chefs from clubs throughout Westchester participate in the event.

This October 23rd, Jansen Hospice and Palliative Care will celebrate its 20th Anniversary by honoring Better Than Cooking's founding fathers: Michael Dolan, Former Executive Chef of The Bronxville Field Club, Lori Sahagian, General Manager, Bronxville Field Club, Steven Palm, owner of Underhill's Crossing, Michael Kasara, former General Manager of Siwanoy Country Club and Lee and the late Alfredo Cruz, the former owners of the Wine & Spirits Emporium of Bronxville.

Once again, numerous chefs from Club Chefs of Westchester will be joining in the fun as well as many of Bronxville's finest restaurants, including Ladle of Love, Park 143 Bistro, The Taco Project, Opaopa Fresh Greek, Nutmeg and Chantilly Patisserie.

Thanks to the dedication of these supporters of Better Than Cooking, nothing has been better than BTC! And thanks to Jansen Hospice and Palliative Care, families throughout Westchester have received the comfort and compassion they so dearly need during a difficult time.

The Jansen Board, it's supporters, and all those who benefit from their much-needed services raise a glass to Better Than Cooking and all who made it possible.
