:  New Yorker columnist Adam Gopnik will be speaking at 5:30 pm at the Miller Lecture Hall in the Titsworth Building on the campus of Sarah Lawrence College. His lecture, which is free and open to the public, is titled "Jerusalem vs. Athens and Us" and grows out of a series of lectures he organized and hosted at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in connection with its current exhibition Jerusalem 1000-1400: Every People Under Heaven.

Thursday, December 1:  Sarah Lawrence professor Stephon O'Connor will discuss his new novel about Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemmings at 6:00 pm in the Slonim House at 915 Kimball Avenue on the campus of Sarah Lawrence College. For more information, email CLOAKING or call 914-395-2412.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, December 2, 3, and 4:  Concordia Conservatory's annual holiday musical, which this year is Santa's Day Off! with book, music, and lyrics by Concordia Conservatory and Bronxville High School graduate Christopher Landy '14, will be performed at the Schoenfeld Campus Center on the campus of Concordia College at 7:00 pm on Friday, 4:30 and 7:00 pm on Saturday, and 1:00 and 3:30 pm on Sunday. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, December 2, 3, and 4:  The Bronxville School PTA and the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce are partnering to kick off the holiday season with "Hometown Holiday," which will include a tree-lighting on Friday, Santa's workshop on all three days, a holiday window decorating contest, and discounts at village shops on Saturday and Sunday. For more information, contact Suzanne Davis of the Bronxville PTA at 914-337-6040 or  CLOAKING or Nicole Tuck of the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce at 917-509-7954 or  CLOAKING .

Sunday, December 4:  The Bronxville Women's Club will be hosting a holiday brunch and fundraiser at noon in its clubhouse, Anna Lawrence Bisland 1928 House, at 135 Midland Avenue. For more information, go to or call 914-337-3252.

Sunday, December 4: The Eastchester Historical Society will be hosting a Victorian Christmas party at the Marble School House from 1:00 to 4:00 pm with a display of ornaments, dolls, toys, and books and light refreshments.
