: Jansen Hospice and Palliative Care will hold its annual fall fundraiser, Better Than Cooking Dinner, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at the Bronxville Field Club. For more information, call Nadia Trimmer at 914-787-5001.

Thursday, October 20:  Johanna Flaum, senior vice president and head of contemporary art day sales at Sotheby's, will discuss the contemporary art market and preview Sotheby's November contemporary art auction at 1:00 pm at OSilas Gallery, on the campus of Concordia College. Thursday, October 20:  There will be a regular meeting of the Bronxville Board of Education at 7:30 pm in the multipurpose room of The Bronxville School. For more information, go to or call 914-395-0500.

Friday, October 21: The Child Institute at Sarah Lawrence College will be holding a Community Adventure Play Experience in which children play with loose materials with adults nearby. The event will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site at 29 Warburton Avenue in Yonkers. Saturday, October 22:  The Anne Hutchinson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution ("DAR") will be presenting Kari Weis, a professional genealogist and member of the Westchester County Genealogical Society and a DAR voluntary genealogist, who will give a talk titled "Genealogy Basics and Finding Revolutionary Patriots" at 1:00 pm in the Yeager Room of the Bronxville Public Library.

Sunday, October 23:  The Bronxville Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring the Bronxville Children's Halloween Festival from noon to 4:00 pm. Leonard Morange Square and the Bronxville Metro-North station, along Parkway Road, will be transformed into a country-style oasis for kids, with carnival rides, pony rides, live music, food, activities, and more. Children are encouraged to come in costume and can expect festive, delicious treats and a fun time.

Tuesday, October 25: The Bronxville Zoning Board of Appeals will be meeting at 7:30 pm in Bronxville Village Hall. For more information, go to or call 914-337-6500.
