Nov. 1, 2023: Via Veroli is located at 2150 Central Park Avenue in Yonkers (914-961-3333).  It is a welcome addition to restaurants in Yonkers, occupying the former space of Reggia Morelli Ristorante.

The new owners are Sal Cuccullo, also owner and Executive Chef of Via Veroli and 808 Bistro in Scarsdale, and Walter Palma, who is from Veroli, Italy.  They have renovated the space to provide a favorable dining experience with "old world" charm and modern touches.

A cozy bar greets you as you enter. You then proceed to a large handsome dining room with pleasing beige walls and deep burgundy wood accents.

The talented chef serves creative Italian cuisine. Delicious Italian bread served with EVOO is brought to your table when seated.

The brand-new Seasonal Menu starts with appetizers that include beef, pork, and veal meatballs with whipped ricotta, Cannellini beans with sausage, long hot peppers in garlic and oil, and crispy eggplant with burrata in a balsamic reduction.

An interesting salad of roast butternut squash, arugula, pumpkin seeds, gorgonzola, and sweet balsamic was delicious.

From "pasta & risotto," we had a savory and smooth Orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe and Tagliatelle Amatriciana, a winning combination of guanciale (bits of pork belly) and chunks of fresh tomato with pecorino.

Inventive "entrees" were a Pork Chop Scarp with hot, sweet, or mixed cherry peppers and Chicken Marsala with lots of mushrooms in a rich sauce that came with pasta. Since I already had my pasta dish, I ordered perfect sauteed spinach.

Also on the menu are pizza in sauce and pizza bianco in a variety of combinations.

For dessert, the Tiramisu was creamy and yummy, served with biscotti.

Walter and Richie, our waiters, couldn't have been nicer and were always checking to see how we and the other diners liked each course.

Happy Hour is Mon. - Fri. from 3 to 6:30 pm, with bar snacks available to order.

Via Veroli is open Mon.-Thurs. and Sun. from 11:30 am to 9 pm and Fri. and Sat. from 11:30 to 10 pm. Catering and private events are also offered.
