May 17, 2023: On May 11, nearly 200 friends, supporters, and staff of Cancer Support Team came together to “Celebrate Spring” at the Bronxville Field Club.  RuthAnn Brazill, longtime Bronxville resident, and Phil Orlando, of Chappaqua, were honored for their dedication and service to CST.

CST Board member and Chair of the event (and formerly of Bronxville), Marlissa Westerfield, noted that “RuthAnn and Phil have both been instrumental in helping CST really grow. Last year we assisted over 1000 patients and families.”

RuthAnn Brazill has been a Board member since 2005.  She has been involved in every CST fundraising event for the past 17 years. RuthAnn has also dedicated many volunteer hours locally -- participating in a leadership capacity with The Junior League of Bronxville, The Bronxville School Parents Committee, The Reformed Church of Bronxville, and The Midnight Run. She served two terms with the Bronxville Non-Partisan Committee. She has also served on the Boards of Heartsong and Friends of the Bronxville Public Library.

Phil Orlando joined the Cancer Support Team Advisory Board in 2007. With his personal touch and some gentle high-pressure persuasion, Phil has helped CST fundraise thousands of dollars during his tenure, which has enabled the organization to serve its patients and their families.

Phil is a regular contributor on various financial television programs, including CNBC, Bloomberg, Fox Business News, and Reuters.  He is also often a spokesperson quoted in The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, among many other media outlets.

Both honorees are known as Cancer Support Team ambassadors ensuring that patients dealing with cancer know that CST is always available to help.
