Jan. 11, 2023: Dylan Bar & Lounge is located at X20 Xaviars on the Hudson at 71 Water Grand Street in Yonkers.
It is a delightful dinner choice with delicious food, including a three-course prix fixe dinner on Thursday evenings, where you get a choice of Appetizer, Entree, and Dessert for $45/person.
This intimate dining experience, from noted Chef Peter Kelly from X20 restaurant, features a nice bar, an open kitchen, and wrap-around floor-to-ceiling windows.
A full array of Sushi and Sashimi selections is available by the piece with twelve choices, along with farmhouse cheeses with dried fruit compote and a toasted baguette, priced at $7.50 for one cheese, $15.50 for three kinds of cheese and $24 for five.
We started with the Crispy Tuna Roll with avocado, caramelized soy, and wasabi aioli, which were excellent in taste, texture, and execution. The other two offerings were Baby Greens & Granny Smith Apple Salad or pasta of Tagliatelle Alla Panna.
Our two delicious Entrees were Duck Confit Leg on a bed of farro risotto, baby spinach, and pear mostarda, topped with crispy pomme frite. Confit is a classic French preparation where duck legs are salted and cooked in fat at a low temperature, resulting in incredibly tender meat.
The second entree was tender Red Wine Braised Short Ribs, served with creamy polenta and grilled broccolini gremolata. A Sweet Soy Glaze Atlantic Salmon was also on the menu.
We chose the yummy Warm Apple Tart with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream for dessert. New York Cheesecake with raspberry sorbet was also available.
Service was prompt. Our friendly and efficient waiter, Alexis, and Manager, Julian James, aimed to please. The Chef, Michael W. Wendt, succeeds in creativity and noteworthy food.
