Nov. 30, 2022: To kick off the holiday season by serving others, the Junior League of Bronxville (JLB), along with longstanding partner Feeding Westchester, held its 9th annual Thanksgiving Mobile Food Pantry in Mount Vernon at Beulah Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Friday November 18, 2022.
During the event, 148 turkeys were distributed along with classic Thanksgiving sides that were donated by JLB members and the greater Bronxville community as part of its Thanksgiving Sides Food Drive. The JLB also provided fun Thanksgiving themed craft activity packs for children to enjoy over the holiday weekend. In addition to the Thanksgiving feast, fresh fruit, rice, beans, pasta and baked goods were distributed to more than 160 families.
The JLB would like to thank the Village of Bronxville for its support and assistance with the Thanksgiving Sides Food Drive, along with Beulah Church and Feeding Westchester for making this special Thanksgiving Mobile Food Pantry a huge success! The JLB President, Kristin Smith, added, “Thanks to the hard work of the JLB and its valued community partners, more of our neighbors can now celebrate with a bountiful meal”.
