July 20, 2022: There are new additions to the La Casa Bronxville menu. Spencer Pingel, the owner, has made the changes to present a more balanced menu at his eatery, one of the finest Mexican restaurants in our area. La Casa Bronxville was voted BOW (Best of Westchester) under the category of "New Restaurants" (opened 2021 or later) Reader's Picks "Food & Drink."
To start your meal, White Sangria has been added to enjoy along with La Casa's incredible Guacamole and house-made tortilla chips. Another option is to have the Sangria with fresh veggie sticks of jicama, carrots, celery, and green and red peppers.
There is nothing better on a hot summer day than refreshing tomato Gazpacho, another new addition to the menu.
La Casa Bronxville has also expanded its quesadilla offerings by adding Strip Steak and Shrimp choices, along with its Chicken, Cheese, and Vegetarian choices.
Under "Appetizers," La Casa Bronxville has added Esquites, which is Mexican Street Corn, made here with pan-roasted corn with cotija cheese, epazote, and chile.
The menu's popular "Taco" section now includes "Ostras," which is fried oysters, slaw, and roasted poblano with aioli, which my husband found unique and inspiring.
If you like steak, have the newly added Carne Asada as your Entree, which is grilled skirt steak with chimichurri sauce, plantains, and avocado served with black beans and rice on the side. In addition, I sampled a new entree for me, Caldo de Pollo, which is a chicken stew consisting of a leg and a thigh with cabbage, carrot, corn, chayote, and garbanzo beans in a flavorful light broth.
No Mexican meal would be complete without a dessert of Churros with chocolate sauce, which are yummy donuts in the Mexican tradition.
La Casa Bronxville is located at 7 Pondfield Road in Bronxville. 914-222-9016.
