Bronxville officials with Congressman Bowman
By Staff,
May 4, 2022: During April, officials in the village of Bronxville government partnered with our Congressman Jamaal Bowman to collect food to donate to feed Westchester. Some people are surprised to learn that, while Westchester is the third richest county in the nation, one and six residents in Westchester is food insufficient.
Cap on Sales Tax on Gas
In a special meeting on Thursday April 28, the Westchester Board of Legislators approved a measure to cap sales tax on gas purchases at $.12 per gallon. The tax relief will run from June 1 through August 31.
James Nolan, Westchester County Legislator for the 15th District, which includes Bronxville, commented, "I am thrilled that my colleagues and I passed an act that will cap the County's sales tax at 12 cents per gallon at the gas pump until August 31st! I have been advocating hard for relief since the beginning of March and I was the first Legislator to call for relief at the gas pump. I'm happy that we were successful in delivering relief for both residents and consumers! One of my number one goals as an elected official is to make our community more affordable for everyone!"
Footbridge Replacement

The Bronxville pedestrian footbridge on the Bronx River Pathway located off Pondfield Road will be fully replaced. The footbridge was destroyed during the remnants of Hurricane Ida which passed through Westchester County late last year.
Mary Marvin commented, “I am beyond grateful the persistent bipartisan advocacy for this bridge by our County Legislator James Nolan and the County Executive George Latimer who both immediately saw the need. The bridge is used by residents of Yonkers, Bronxville, Tuckahoe and Mount Vernon for daily walks so the repair will benefit so many lower Westchester citizens.”
