Three Bronxville School Board Candidates Meet with Community Members at Non-Partisan Committee (NPC) Hosted Reception

By Michael Ching

May 4, 2022: On Wednesday, April 20th, the Bronxville Non-Partisan Committee (NPC) hosted a reception at the Bronxville Field Club to introduce Alexa Pappas Zannetos, Erin Bertocci Seuffert and Michael Brandes as the endorsed candidates for the Bronxville School Board.  This event provided an opportunity for members of the Bronxville community to meet the NPC candidates and discuss key challenges and opportunities facing our school in the years ahead.

Current NPC Chair, Ed Reilly, kicked off the evening panel discussion with a brief overview about the organization’s 85-year history and the nomination process.  The NPC vetting process included written applications, reference calls, community feedback and interviews with committee members.

Candidates Alexa Pappas Zannetos, Erin Bertocci Seuffert and Michael Brandes had the opportunity to discuss why they were running for a seat on the Bronxville School Board, the unique skillsets they would bring to the Board and what they identified as the most pressing issues.

In this hour long “meet and greet” discussion, members of the community asked questions regarding the school’s curriculum, resources for students with learning differences and the emotional well-being of our students dealing with the challenges of COVID.

The evening concluded with a reminder to encourage residents to vote on Tuesday, May 17th.

The NPC has scheduled an additional event on May 9th at 7pm at the Bronxville Women's Club (135 Midland Avenue, Bronxville, NY).
