April 27, 2022: The village of Bronxville, with the help of local garden clubs, does a truly outstanding job of always making the village looks beautiful.
One side of the oval in front of NYP-Lawrence Hospital has proven to be a sticky wicket for the village as it seems that some vehicles take the turn a bit too tightly and the plantings as well as the box that contains the electrical equipment suffer. So, the village has had to rebuild this corner a number of times.
"What was most upsetting to me," said Mayor Mary Marvin, "was one of our wonderful DPW workers made a beautiful carpentry box to cover all of the unsightly equipment and it wasn't up there but a few months and a large truck took it down."
But the third rebuild could be the charm. This time, the village has moved the electrical box behind the bushes, which is further from the road, as is working on a new installation of plants. This corner of the oval will undoubtedly look beautiful once more.
So, drivers, please do your part and take it slow around this curve.
