Nov. 6, 2021: Have you noticed that 15 Parkview Avenue, the six-story building that experienced a devastating fire on March 12, 2019, is being demolished? The building is on the border of Bronxville and Yonkers. On the evening of the fire, smoke could be seen billowing from the top of the building as firefighters battled the blaze. Helicopters circled in the sky into the late evening. The building has been uninhabitable since the fire.
The building is currently being demolished by Crew Constructing from New Jersey. A new building will be constructed in its place. Perkins Eastman, an architecture and design firm, made a presentation to the Yonkers Building Department in May of this year which included a proposed design of the new building. One of the renderings of the new building is shown below.
We will keep you updated on this new building as construction begins.
