Pet of the Week: Adopt Sweet Scooby, Orphaned Due to Hurricane Ida

By Allison Roesser

Sept. 29, 2021: Sweet Scooby is a Shepard/hound mix puppy who is friendly, affectionate, playful, and smart.

This good natured fellow was just starting out in his new home when unfortunate circumstances changed his forever plans. His family lost everything in hurricane Ida, and sadly Scooby did as well. He is now at the animal shelter and back on a path to find another loving home.

Scooby's previous family did a great job with this very intelligent boy. He is housebroken, social, and great with other dogs. His well-behaved and gentle nature will make him a fabulous family pet.

Scooby loves to run around at the dog park and would be thrilled if his new family could give him fun activities to keep him busy and tap into his athletic side. He is eager to learn, excited to please, and any family would be lucky to have him.

This medium size pup has been fully vetted and neutered. He is available for adoption today at the Humane Society of Westchester, 70 Portman Road, New Rochelle. The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10 am to 4 pm.
