Seventeen Bronxville School Teachers and Staff Members Retiring

June 30, 2021: With combined experience and service to the Bronxville School of more than 396 years, 17 teachers and staff members are retiring this school year.

Congratulations to the following retirees:

-Anne Abbatecola, director of counseling, retired in November 2020, 15 years.

-Patricia Allen, speech therapist, 20 years. 

-Dianne Aronson, elementary school teacher, 31 years.

-Araella Boyum, teacher aide, 16 years.

-Lorraine Branson, occupational therapist, 20 years.

-Elizabeth Fleisig, middle school social studies and math teacher, 23 years.

-Rosary Forlani, teacher aide, 23 years.

-Noreen Herber, teacher aide, 22 years.

-Dr. Denise Lutter, orchestra director, 36 years.

-Annmarie Mazzio, elementary/middle school special education teacher, 18 years. 

-Karen McManus, teacher aide, retired in December 2020, 17.5 years.

-Gene Orsenigo, middle school math teacher, 46 years.

-Maria Pizzolato, elementary school special education teacher, 20 years.

-Bonnie Polockow, certified occupational therapist assistant, 15 years.

-David Ryan, high school chemistry teacher, 32 years.

-Thomas H. Sanders, middle school social studies teacher, 20 years.

-Kathe Sosa, school nurse, 22 years.

Teachers said they will miss collaborating with their colleagues and watching their students grow. Dianne Aronson, who taught second grade, said she looks forward to spending time with family and working as a field specialist with local colleges to give back to the profession she has loved for more than 40 years.

“What I will miss most is the opportunity to work with Bronxville’s talented and dedicated music students, collaborating with colleagues to design and implement new instructional approaches and the Foundation’s support for innovative ideas and programs,” Dr. Lutter said, adding that she looks forward to traveling, conducting researching and writing in her retirement.

The Bronxville School wishes continued success to these beloved faculty members as they embark on the next chapter of their lives and thanks them for their dedicated decades of service to their students.
