Dear Bronxville Village Residents,
We, the undersigned individuals, write to you today to encourage you to vote on May 18th for School Board Candidate and Non-Partisan Committee (NPC) endorsed nominee, Miki Kapoor. We all have had the experience of working directly with Miki in Bronxville across various Bronxville committees and initiatives, and feel that our collective experiences working with Miki provide us the insights needed to comment on his candidacy.
Miki is a father of three children and has lived in Bronxville for the past 8 years. His two oldest children attend the Bronxville Elementary School (2nd and 4th grades) while his youngest is in pre-school.
We have witnessed firsthand Miki’s leadership and commitment to service working alongside him on the Bronxville Police Community Relations Committee, the Bronxville Unity March, or the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee of the Bronxville School. We feel strongly that he is the best candidate to join the Bronxville School Board. This past summer, Miki was instrumental in organizing the Bronxville Unity March that drew thousands of participants from the area. Miki functioned as a linchpin to the entire endeavor as he was able to build consensus amongst village, school, and community leaders and voice our unified desire to march against racial injustice. On the heels of the successful event, Miki was selected to be a part of the Police Community Relations Committee where he was an involved committee member, delving into important issues facing our police force. He also served on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee of the Bronxville School ensuring that diverse views are valued and heard within the school.
In addition to his strong record of community service, Miki has been a successful healthcare executive acting as CEO, President, co-founder, and board member for several healthcare companies that have been acquired and gone public while he has been at the helm. His leadership and experience landed him seats on institutional and civic boards including the boards of other healthcare companies, the board of a hospital, and the board of a large community health center for underprivileged families without access to healthcare in the Bronx and Harlem. Miki has also served as Executive Vice President for the Clinton Foundation while living in India and leading healthcare operations for Africa and India. Miki has been valued by these organizations for his ability to navigate complicated challenges, build consensus, execute new ideas, and manage the financial and operational structures necessary for long-term success.
The Bronxville School community would be lucky to have Miki as a board member. We recognize his leadership, diverse ideas, financial acumen, moral compass, and willingness to listen to and work with the community as valuable traits for such an important role within the community.
Sincerely,
Kerry Acocella
