On April 13, 2021, Governor Cuomo issued a statement about the recent news that the CDC and FDA had recommended a pause in the use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine because six people who have received the vaccine in the U.S. developed blood clots.  The Governor noted that 6.8 million people had received the vaccine.  He confirmed that New York State will continue to administer the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, "which are completely unaffected by this pause and which make up the vast majority of our supply."

According to the New York State Covid-19 tracker, as of April 13, 2021, 5 million or 25.5% of the New York population had completed the vaccine series.  As of the same date, 287,303 or 29.7% of the residents of Westchester had completed the vaccine series.

As of April 6, 2021, New Yorkers age 16 years of age and older are eligible to receive the vaccine. For a full list of those currently eligible for the vaccine, click here. To find an appointment (if available) at a State-run vaccination site call 1-833-697-4829
