Mar. 17, 2021: Have you noticed the colorful Adirondack chairs on the front lawn of the Reformed Church in Bronxville?
MyhometownBronxville reached out to the Reverend Dr. Matthew Waterstone, senior minister of the Reformed Church, to find out what they're all about.
Reverend Waterstone said that the Reformed Church borrowed the idea from the church in his hometown of Holland, Michigan, which is similarly situated in the middle of town.
He said that, given the difficult year we have all had, the Reformed Church wanted to do something that said to the community, "We're here. We're open and you're welcome." Reverend Waterstone added, "The chairs are a symbol of community and we hope that as the weather gets warm, people will sit in them, have a cup of coffee, talk and relax."
