Feb. 17, 2021: Copper Kettle Cafe in Hartsdale serves some of the very best farm-to-table comfort food in our area. Many of the dishes on the limited but very creative menu are changed regularly by Chef/Owner Joseph D'Angelo, who has run this casual and popular restaurant for the past six years. Fresh, locally sourced food that he personally enjoys eating is what he serves to his customers.
We started our meal with one of the two "Flats:" Wild mushrooms, truffle oil, and goat cheese on a crispy and thin flatbread. It's oh so good. Another delicious option is made of House-Made Fennel Sausage.
From "Mains," we chose an outstanding Chicken Pot Pie, loaded with delicious vegetables and topped with a yummy crispy crust. Everything is cooked from scratch.
Next from "Pasta" was Campanelle with melt-in-your-mouth short ribs, wild mushrooms, carrots, and plum tomatoes.
The restaurant has two signature dishes called "Copper Bowls." The Winter Bowl has quinoa, baby brussels, mushrooms, butternut squash, and sage. The "Dirty" BBQ Bowl has BBQ pulled chicken, basmati rice, chickpeas, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and scallions.
There were two desserts to end our meal - - the Chocolate Brownie and the Butterscotch Baby, which is butterscotch pudding, butterscotch sauce, and whipped cream. OMG, so divine.
We asked our very attentive waiter, William, if there was any ice cream, and the answer was no because if Joe doesn't make it himself, it is not going to be on the menu.
The Copper Kettle Café is small, and, with the current CDC guidelines, it can only seat ten at tables and three people at the bar, which serves artfully crafted cocktails. Therefore, it is a good idea to make a reservation.
The Copper Kettle Cafe is located at 201 East Hartsdale Avenue in Hartsdale. 914-723-1065.
