Feb. 10, 2021: Have you noticed a large building going up behind Bronxville Village Hall on Palumbo Place?
The village of Bronxville is constructing a 9,500 square foot building that will house the Bronxville Department of Public Works vehicles and equipment. The new building will also include a 1,000 square foot mezzanine with office space, bathroom, locker room, and meeting/break room. The previous DPW building dates back to 1942 and couldn't accommodate modern DPW equipment, which had to be left outside in the rain, sleet, and snow.
According to Bronxville Village administrator, Jim Palmer, the building will have red brick columns in between front bays and tan brick along the rear foundation. It will also have plantings along the exterior and slope facing the rear side of Village Hall. There will also be a new DPW parking lot.
The cost of the new building is $4.5 million and the project is on budget. It is expected to be completed by August of 2021
