OSilas Gallery Presents Evening Online Talk With Artist Richard Haas On January 14

By Elizabeth Vranka, Executive Director, OSilas Gallery

Jan. 6, 2020: OSilas Gallery is pleased to present an evening talk (online) by internationally acclaimed artist Richard Haas on January 14th at 7:00 PM.

Mr. Haas will discuss his 60-year career, which is rooted in his fascination with architecture. From time spent during his youth in Wisconsin at Frank Lloyd Wright’s studio and worksites to his extensive travels creating murals, indoors and outdoors, in cities and towns across the Unites States, Richard will share his love of art and architecture with our viewers and discuss his experience creating art in public spaces.

During this talk, Mr. Haas will highlight many of his works in New York, including his mural on 112 Prince Street in New York City, which, more than any other of his murals, was the catalyst that led to the creation of over 100 interior and exterior murals throughout the world.

Richard Haas is a New York-based artist who is best known for architectural murals and his use of the trompe l’oeil style. Mr. Haas’ work has received awards from the American Institute of Architects Medal of Honor, 1977, Guggenheim Fellowship 1983, National Endowment of Arts award l987, Distinguished Alumnus Award University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee 1991, Jimmy Ernst award, American Academy of Arts and Letters, New York 2005.

His drawings, prints, gouaches and models of buildings and cities may be found in the permanent collections of many museums, including the nearby Museum of Modern Art, New York City, and Hudson River Museum, Yonkers. www.richardhaas.com
