Enjoy the Outdoors at Home With A Fire Pit

By Artie Lange, Arthur Lange, Inc.

Dec. 23, 2020: With winter upon us, most homeowners are thinking about hibernating inside until spring, but the outdoors can still be enjoyed on even some of the coldest days.

One great feature of many homes is the outdoor fire pit that comes in all varieties and options, and most people can certainly figure out a way to utilize one on their property.

The quickest and simplest way would be to order a pre-fab unit online. Most are simple to put together and are fueled by refillable propane tanks. You can place them in the desired location, and, with a few Adirondack chairs, you will be ready to kick back with a few friends and enjoy your outdoor space next to a warm fire.

The more complex approach would be a custom built brick and stone fire pit. This can be designed by an architect, and, along with a new stone patio, would be a wonderful addition to any home. Custom fire pits are mostly fueled with logs but can be retrofitted with a gas line.

No matter which option you choose, a fire pit can be perfect for toasting marshmallows and making s’mores.

Another nice option for enjoying the outdoors is exterior heaters. These also come in many varieties and fuel sources. The simplest ones can be purchased online for about $250.00 per heater, and they run off propane. The higher-end heaters are electric and attach to your home and offer luxurious comfort in taking the cold edge off while relaxing in the outdoors.
