Bronxville Lights Up the Night All Over Town: See Photos

By Staff

Dec. 9, 2020: On Sunday, December 6, Bronxville families celebrated the community by lighting up the night all over town. The idea was created by the Bronxville School PTA to display Bronxville Unity and acknowledge the strength and perseverance of teachers, administrators, and school staff during these challenging times.

Residents were invited to purchase a "Light Up The Night" kit, which included luminaries to put in yards and tumblers so residents could enjoy a beverage while walking the streets to view the lights.

Families could also purchase luminaries as a show of support for teachers and school staff. Those were on display in front of The Bronxville School.

According to Jennifer Heathwood, President-elect of the Bronxville School PTA, over 700 "Light Up The Night" kits were sold. "I hope that the luminaries will be a powerful symbol of how, even though we need to be physically apart to beat the virus, we are not alone,” said Heathwood.

MyhometownBronxville photographers Neely Bower and Allaire Warner were able to capture some of the magic of the evening in the photos below. Enjoy!
