Jul. 20, 2016: A 56-year-old woman from Mount Vernon was charged with forgery in the 2nd degree, grand larceny in the 3rd degree, and grand larceny in the 4th degree on Thursday, July 14, 2016.
The woman worked as a home health aide for a 91-year-old female resident who lived in a private residence on Kensington Road, where the crimes were committed.
Detective Sergeant Richard Anderson arrested the woman after she had been identified as stealing numerous checks and also forging signatures between October of 2015 and April of 2016 totaling over $21,000.
She was arraigned and remanded to Westchester County jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or bond pending her next court appearance on July 20, 2016, at 6:00 pm.
