'Franchise Ownership as Business Career' Topic at Career Network Meeting, November 20

Nov. 6, 2013: Frank Dunne, owner and principal for FranNet of Hudson Valley and an expert in the field of business and franchising, will discuss the topic of franchise ownership as a career option at the next meeting of the Bronxville Career Network on Wednesday, November 20, at 7:30 pm at The Reformed Church of Bronxville.

Key discussion points at the meeting will be:

• Franchising extends well beyond burgers and doughnuts, with 3,100 concepts across 300 industries, and represents a viable opportunity for those looking for control over their futures with opportunities for independence

• Franchising is a regulated industry that offers safety and security to owners and offers many affordable opportunities and financing options

• Franchise ownership can be a viable career or investment opportunity for executives-in-transition, veterans, baby boomer parents/college-graduated children tandems, semi-retirees, and others.

As a franchise placement specialist and franchisee himself, Frank Dunne works individually with career-transitioners, aspiring entrepreneurs, and other opportunity-seekers who are considering business ownership as a career alternative.

Dunne advises clients on how to search for and evaluate franchises and format business opportunities via a deep-dive research process. Clients are expertly matched with the businesses that are best suited for their skill set and experience and that meet their professional and personal goals. Dunne has made presentations at outplacement firms, the nonprofit association SCORE, the New York Small Business Development Center, libraries, networking groups, and career forums.

Founded four years ago, the 300-member Bronxville Career Network is a volunteer-operated group offering networking, career and job search information, and support to job seekers, career changers, and employed people interested in sharing career information or expertise. Meeting the fourth Wednesday of each month, the group is sponsored by the Congregational Life Council of The Reformed Church of Bronxville. Unless otherwise noted, all meetings are held from 7:15 pm to 9:30 pm in the Edwards Room. A facilitated Daytimers Group also meets on the first Monday of each month at 9:30 pm in the Copenhaver Room.
