Dec. 12, 2018: Bronxville’s annual "Light the Night" tree lighting was Friday night, kicking off a weekend of festive events in Bronxville. Alex Lampert of Jimmy Dee Entertainment MC’d the event, keeping the crowd entertained with contests and giveaways from Ladle of Love.

Bronxville’s Mayor Marvin, Eastchester Town Supervisor Anthony Colavita, and president of NewYork- Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital Michael Fosina all wished the crowd a joyous holiday season. The Bronxville Middle School Choir, led by Pamela Simpson, sang carols. Frosty and Santa had a police escort down Pondfield Road and arrived at Leonard Morange Park to light the tree. They rode in a Mercedes convertible with a big bow on it, thanks to event sponsor Pepe Automotive Group. Ladle of Love provided the much-needed warmth of their soups, along with cookies, hot cocoa, and hot cider. Jimmy Dee entertainment transformed the park into a festive party of lights.

On Saturday, Elsa, Anna, and Olaf of the Disney movie Frozen strolled the village. After getting makeovers at Maison Rouge, they stopped by shops and restaurants. After visiting merchants, they were off to spread holiday cheer to the pediatric patients at NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital. The kids and hospital staff were so excited to have these visitors that they broke out into song more than once.

J.McLaughin hosted a “sip-n-shop” to benefit the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce on Saturday. Dobbs & Bishop enjoyed Young at Arts carolers throughout the afternoon, and Concordia Conservatory caroled the streets of Bronxville Saturday evening. The weekend wrapped up with Snowflake the Elf taking photos at Found Herbal on Sunday.

The sponsors who brought you this festive weekend were NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital, Pepe Automotive Group, Ladle of Love, Bronxville Auto Collision, Coals Pizza, and EMLJ on behalf of their tenants. The events committee members were Michele MacMillan (Paws and Play Pet Resort), Bob Kraus (Mrs. Morgan’s Flower Shop), Jennifer Lampert (Ladle of Love), and Jessica Mullins (Found Herbal Apothecary). Finally, our Frosty and Santa (Celebrity Teachers from The Bronxville School) and Frozen characters (Michele MacMillan’s daughters Stephanie, Elizabeth, and Kathryn) were a huge hit!

These events take place on behalf of all the members of the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce, the Village of Bronxville, the Bronxville Police, and the Bronxville DPW.

Breakfast with Santa is at the Bronxville Diner next Saturday, December 15.
