Dec. 11, 2019: Bronxville residents voted to approve a proposed $3 million supplemental capital bond proposition for The Bronxville School in a referendum held yesterday, December 10. The vote was 188 in favor of the proposition and 40 against.
These additional funds will enable the School to complete projects taken out of its original $21.8 milion capital improvement plan approved in March 2018. These projects were taken out because of higher than expected bids. However, due to lower than expected interest rate on the original bond, the $3 million in additional funds will preserve tax neutrality.
Among the new projects to be undertaken are the necessary upgrade of the curtain wall on the exterior of the elementary school near the playground area, the installation of the chiller to provide air conditioning to the first floor of the A & B wings and the construction of the innovation/design center.
