Bronxville Track and Field Teams Have Strong Performances at Leagues; Girls’ 4x400m Relay Qualifies for The Millrose Games PDF Print Email

Jan. 15, 2020:  The winter track and field teams competed in the League 3C Championships on Sunday at The Armory. The girls’ team easily won leagues by outscoring second-place Pawling 211-154.

Eighteen girls earned All-League honors for winning their respective events: Caroline Ircha, Kelly Weild, Eve Balseiro, Ava Black, Marielle Dibbini, Millie Koenig, Remi Mellinghoff, Jules Gravier, Sabrina Mellinghoff, Alisa Kanganis, Lauren Rao,  Betsy Marshall, Madeline Stupart, Maeve Sullivan, Rory Denning, Ella Stupart, Avery Widen and Anna Outcalt.

Five members of the boys’ team placed first and earned All-League recognition: Connor Randall, Will Murray, Tim Murray, Johnny Moynihan and Ben Hanley.

Two Bronxville school records were set at the League Championships. Jules Gravier won the pole vault, breaking the Bronxville school record for the fourth time this season (10-9). Connor Randall, who won the 55m dash in 6.72, also set a Bronxville School record.

Leagues 1B and 2C were also competing at The Armory on Sunday night. These leagues included much larger schools such as Mamaroneck, Mount Vernon, New Rochelle and Nyack.  In four events, Bronxville athletes placed first overall for Leagues1B, 2C and 3C.

In addition to breaking Bronxville school records, Connor Randall and Jules Gravier placed first overall. Millie Koenig placed first overall in the long jump (16-01) and moved into second place on the All-Time Top Performers for Bronxville in that event. Finally, Marshall, Sullivan, M. Stupart, and Balseiro  placed first overall in the 4x400m relay in a time of 4.13.80.

The Bronxville girls ‘ track team has some outstanding talent this season. Four Bronxville girls will be competing in the high school 4x400m relay at the Millrose Games after qualifying at the Millrose Trials on January 9th. The Millrose Games, the most prestigious indoor track and field event in the U.S. will take place at The Armory on February 8th.
