Wednesday, February 20, 1:30 pm, Presentation about Women of New York at Bronxville Women's Club. Art and Susan Zuckerman, co-presidents of Z Travel and Leisure, will give a presentation on Club Day at the Bronxville Women's Club about a "colorful and entertaining array of famous and not so famous historical figures such as Alice Roosevelt Longworth and Victoria Woodhull." Animator Stacy Steers will be presenting four short animated films from the past 20 years in the Titsworth Marjorie Leff Miller '53 Lecture Hall, on the campus of Sarah Lawrence College, 1 Mead Way. Thursday, February 21, 6:00 pm, Lecture on Black Nationalist Women at Sarah Lawrence. "Historians of the era generally portray the period between the Garvey movement of the 1920s and the Black Power movement of the 1960s as one of declining black nationalist activism, but Keisha N. Blain reframes the Great Depression, World War II, and the early Cold War as significant eras of black nationalist—and particularly, black nationalist women's—ferment." "Set the World on Fire: Black Nationalist Women and the Global Struggle for Freedom," part of Sarah Lawrence's Women's History Colloquium, is free and open to the public and will be presented at 6:00 pm in the Slonim House Living Room, 911 Kimball Avenue, on the campus of Sarah Lawrence College. Monday, February 25, 7:15 pm, Panel Discussion on Designer Babies at Sarah Lawrence. As part of Sarah Lawrence's Difference in Dialogue Series, there will be a panel discussion featuring a doctor, a lawyer, and a writer on "the effect of IVF and preimplantation testing on those who use it and those who don't."
