Bronxville Girls' Varsity Tennis Team, Undefeated in Leagues, Reaches Semifinals of Team Tournament PDF Print Email

Oct. 31, 2018:  The Bronxville girls’ varsity tennis team had an impressive season and won all of its league matches. The team was led by captains Lindsey Cruikshank, Sarah Goodell, and Alexandra Brumbaugh.

The team line-up was:

#1 singles - Eva Dani
#2 singles - Lindsey Cruikshank 
#3 singles - Alexandra Brumbaugh 
#1 doubles - Katie Formato and Rory Christian 
#2 doubles - Sarah and Susie Goodell
#3 doubles - Olivia Doyle and Bella Patterson
#4 doubles - Eliza McFadden and Hannah BeldottiAmelia Srebnik and Sofia Ricciarini

Bronxville had six team members who qualified for conferences and sectionals, Lindsey CruikshankEva DaniKatie FormatoRory ChristianSarah Goodell, and Susie Goodell. Bronxville had the most team members represented. Cruikshank and Dani teamed up to play in the conference and came in second; they also reached the quarterfinals in the sectionals. 

The final team tournament took place on Wednesday, October 24, at Harrison High School. The team tournament included all the best schools in the area, and the Bronxville team made it to the semifinals. There were a lot of close matches, and the team won two semifinals matches at #1 and #2 doubles, with Katie Formato and Rory Christian and Sarah and Susie Goodell.

The team was coached by Mrs. McGovern and Coach Garzia.
