Thursday, October 4, 7:00 pm, Conversation with Author Fiona Davis, Bronxville Library. Author Fiona Davis will be discussing her latest novel, The Masterpiece, at the Bronxville Public Library at 7:00 pm in the library's Yeager Room. Her novel takes readers into the glamorous lost art school within Grand Central Terminal, where two very different women, fifty years apart, strive to make their mark on a world set against them. Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Books are available at Womrath Bookshop. Friday, October 5, 7:30 am, Business Breakfast with BofA's NYC Market President Anne Walker at Concordia College. The October 5 installment of Business Breakfast brings Anne Walker, Bank of America's market president for New York City, to the Concordia College campus. Her talk, "Embracing the Zigzag Path," will explore the many ways to find career satisfaction. It will be held from 7:30 to 9:00 am in the Pietruski Auditorium on the second floor of the Scheele Memorial Library.

Sunday, October 7, 2:00 to 5:00 pm, Oktoberfest in Bronxville. The Bronxville Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring Bronxville's first Oktoberfest on Park Place starting at 2:00 pm. The event will feature music by The Polka Brothers, a New York City-based four-man band committed to spreading the joy of polka through classic polka favorites and covers of songs by Aerosmith, Weezer, Lady Gaga, The Rolling Stones, and more. There will be beer, food, airbrush tattoos, music, and games, including cornhole. For more information, go to

Monday, October 8, Columbus Day. Columbus Day is a federal government holiday and a New York State government holiday. Bronxville Village Hall and The Bronxville School will be closed; there will be no U.S. mail. The New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ will be open. 

Tuesday, October 9, Bronxville Village Board of Trustees Meeting. There will be a meeting of the Bronxville Village Board of Trustees at 8:00 pm after a 6:30 pm work session/executive session in Bronxville Village Hall. For more information, go to or call 914-337-6500.
