'Journal News' Announces All-Star Teams for Spring 2018 PDF Print Email

Jul. 11, 2018:  Westchester and Putnam County high school athletes received all-star recognition from the Journal News last month. Twenty-nine Broncos were on the all-star list, and twelve were named to the first team. All-stars are chosen from Westchester and Putnam public and private schools of all sizes

Only twelve girls from across Westchester and Putnam counties were selected for the first team for girls' lacrosse, and Broncos Allie Berkery and Grace Randall made the list. Berkery and Randall helped lead the Bronxville team to sectional and regional championships and the Class D state final game.

In track and field, Matt and Alex Rizzo were named to the first team for the 800m; Alex placed first at states in Division 2 and Matt was a very close second. Both Rizzo boys were also named to the first team in the 4x800m relay along with teammates Jack Kochansky and Ethan Waggoner. The boys' 4x800m placed second in Division 2 at the state championship in a time of 7:53.10, the second-fastest time in Bronxville history.

The Bronxville girls' 4x800m relay team (Natalie WeinerPatty HaggertyLaura Holland, and Caroline Brashear) placed first in Division 2 at the state championship and was also named to the all-star first team.

Liam Krall was named to the first team for tennis, and Dan Bettino was named to the first team for golf. Krall placed third at the state championships and Bettino placed twenty-third.
