Apr. 18, 2018:  The Bronxville High School spring sports schedule has kicked off in the last month and its highly anticipated highlight is Spirit Week 2018. A week so action-packed with school pride, themed fan days to celebrate their devoted fans, and community camaraderie, it's no wonder that it's an occasion especially designed with purpose and an enormous heart and culminates with the first-ever Annual Bronxville LaxFest.

Organized by Bronxville High School Athletic Council student volunteers with the support of the Bronxville High School Athletic Department and the Athletic Council, an arm of the PTA, Spirit Week is not just about school spirit. It's also about giving back to the community in ways beyond fellowship and solidarity that is in the "spirit" of the school's Bronxville Promise.

This year's Spirit Week does not fall short on this promise with high school athletes visiting third-grade classrooms during their Meet the Athlete Day event to talk about sportsmanship, time management, and what it's like to be a student-athlete at Bronxville.

The girls' and boys' varsity track team will run a free track clinic for Bronxville Elementary students in grades 2 through 5, and the mountain bike and golf teams will assist USO's Hearts to Home Bike Build for the children of military families.

Galvanized by the groundbreaking movement One Love Foundation, the Bronxville girls' lacrosse team will donate all money raised during its fan day with a meme theme to this laudable charity; and local community ties inspire boys' lacrosse to support Main Springs: The Janada L. Batchelor Foundation for Children. The boys' lacrosse game will feature a beach theme. Both Bronxville girls' and boys' lacrosse teams will face Putnam Valley on Tuesday, April 24, and Wednesday, April 25, respectively on Chambers Field.

The Believe in Brynn Foundation is the charity chosen for the baseball fan day with a zoo theme on Monday, April 23, at Scout Field facing Tuckahoe. TYA youth players are encouraged to attend the game and Craig's Hot Dog Truck will be on hand if you're feeling hungry.

A new addition to the Spirit Week schedule is the First Annual Bronxville LaxFest on Saturday, April 28, sponsored by BYLA and in coordination with Bronxville and Darien Youth Programs in support of the One Love Foundation.

This day is truly a celebration of Bronxville youth and high school lacrosse, with games spanning the entire day beginning at 8:30 am and extending until late in the afternoon. With all Bronxville boys' and girls' youth, JV, and varsity teams participating, there will be so many opportunities for you and the kids to catch a game as well as the spirit.

Bronxville's own Bronco Barn & Grill concession stand will be open, serving tempting treats including candy, snacks, and drinks, and will feature a bake sale with all proceeds from the concession and bake sale to benefit the One Love Foundation. To add to the merriment and revelry of the First Annual Bronxville LaxFest, a variety of dining experiences will be available from the food truck fairway located in the teacher's parking lot on Meadow adjacent to Chambers and Hayes Fields. Featured trucks are Abeetz Pizza, Craig's Hot Dog, Three Little Pigs BBQ, and Root & Vine smoothie stand. This event is sure to please the masses and is not to be missed!

The festivities begin with the high school pep rally and senior/faculty volleyball game on Friday, April 20, at 2:15 pm, a fun-loving rivalry you won't want to miss. And throughout fan days, elementary and middle school students are encouraged to wear their Bronco gear to school and to the game.! Here are all the details so you don't miss a moment:
