By Holly Magnani, Web and Media Relations Manager, Concordia College

Jul. 12, 2017:  Concordia College New York announced the promotion of Harry Walpole to serve as chief financial officer and chief operating officer (CFO/COO), a new position at the college. Ted Francavilla, former chief financial officer, is moving into a new role as vice president for strategic planning and strategic management.

“We couldn’t be happier to have Harry and Ted moving into these key executive team positions. They are both exemplars of leadership and stewardship who have already delivered strong results,” said Concordia College president Rev. Dr. John A. Nunes. “Their vast experience, innovative thinking, and organizational expertise will continue to make a big impact on Concordia’s future.”

Walpole will be responsible for human resources, information technology, finance, and facilities operations at the college. Francavilla will develop and assist in the leadership, communication, and implementation of the college’s new strategic plan. They will both report directly to the president.

Walpole has over forty years of experience in financial analysis and management, project development, technological innovation, risk mitigation, and strategic planning. He has served in various senior executive roles at AXA Equitable, People’s Bank, Chase, and Citicorp. He holds his MBA from New York University.

“Having worked at Concordia over the last three years, I have observed firsthand the dedication and passion of the administration, faculty, and staff in fulfilling Concordia’s mission,” added Walpole. “I’m thrilled to be a part of Concordia’s bright future and continued growth."

Bronxville Public Library

Bronxville Public Library

The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.

The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.

The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children.  All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
