Chamber Chatter for August 3: They Were Dancing in the Streets!

summerpeggyconwaybower

August 3, 2011:  There was dancing in the streets last Thursday night, July 28--on Park Place, to be exact.  Plan B, our entertainment for the evening, proved why they are a local favorite.  The band began to play their incredible versions of great classic rock standards shortly before seven and continued late into the evening.

The crowd (and it was crowded!) did not want to leave, and the band accommodated their fans.  Our sponsor for the concert was Storage Deluxe.  The Chamber of Commerce has friends who always pitch in to make the events successful, and this concert was no exception.

Many thanks to the Village of Bronxville; to Bob Krause and Michelle McMillan of Mrs. Morgan's Flower Shop (and happy birthday, Michelle!); to Tim McGrath of Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home; and to Barbara Amar of Silver Spoon.

We heard over and over that night that we should host more concerts.  Hmm...we'll see!

In the meantime, please join us for our third and final concert of the summer.  This time we will rock the west side!  Mark your calendars for Thursday, August 25, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Leonard Morange Park (at the train station just in from Parkway Road), when Third Stone will dazzle you with their mix of rock and rhythm and blues.  If you haven't heard them already at local places like the Bayou, you are in for a real treat!  Food and drink will be available.

Curbside delivery:  It is always heartening when businesses face a problem and find a fun solution to it.  A few of our members have come up with a way to combat Bronxville parking:  curbside delivery!  Eco Green Cleaners (914-337-3378) and Lange's Deli (914-337-DELI) tell their customers to call before they come and the staff will deliver orders to the customer at his car.  Curbside delivery is a great way for all of us who are constantly on the go to get our errands done more efficiently and with less stress!

Kraft Avenue is in the midst of a face-lift, thanks to the Village and Admiral Real Estate Services, one of our landlords.  The sidewalks are almost finished, and then the street will be repaved.  It will look lovely and be such a bonus for shoppers and residents!

Stay cool, and enjoy the week!

Peggy
