Sept. 2, 2025: It is with a sad heart that we share that Brian Morrison passed away on Friday, August 22 in New York City after a courageous battle following extensive cardiac surgery earlier this year. He passed away peacefully after watching the Red Sox beat the Yankees one last time. He is now healed and playing golf in Heaven with his beloved father-in-law, Jim Brown.

Brian was born on June 15, 1953 in Massachusetts to his parents Mary and Augustine Morrison. Although a 46-year resident of Bronxville, NY, he was always a Bay Stater at heart. Brian attended Georgetown University where he majored in math and physics, played on the golf team, and met his college sweetheart and future wife Susan "Eudie" (Brown) Morrison. A natural academic, he earned a scholarship and went on to be a Baker Scholar at Harvard Business School. After graduating, Brian moved to New York to begin his career on Wall Street before venturing out to start his own business.

Brian was an avid Red Sox fan, a lover of all desserts (especially almond croissants and ice cream), and completed the New York Times crossword daily in ink. He loved to play golf and ski and shared those passions with his three sons. Brian was a great father. He coached Little League and helped his three sons become Eagle Scouts. He also shared his expert skills as a handyman but taught them that ultimately anything could be fixed with either duct tape or WD40.

Brian loved to talk and treasured the many friendships he had around Bronxville. He often took Frank (the school crossing guard) to breakfast, shared his season tickets at Fenway with Carlos from the local bagel shop, or could be found blocking traffic while catching up with Bill or Justin from the Post Office. He was commonly known as "Lattimer" to his sons' friends who twice elected him to provide the commencement speech at Bronxville High School graduation. In moments like this, his sharp wit and sense of humor shone. Even in somber moments, Brian was always ready to make everyone laugh.

Of all the roles in his life, he was most proud to be known as "Grumps" (or sometimes “Bumps”) to his six grandchildren. They were his best friends whom he absolutely adored. Brian will be sorely missed by his wonderful friends and business associates. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Susan; his three sons and their wives Tim (Danielle), Colin (Caroline), and Nolan (Laurence); his six grandchildren (James, Morgan, Padraig, Andrew, Eile, and Mairead); his sister Joan; and his three brothers, Kevin, Mark, and Brendan.

A mass celebrating Brian's life will be held on Saturday, September 13 at 9:45 am at St. Joseph's Church in Bronxville, NY.
