Deborah D. Bond Passed Away on October 12, 2024

Oct. 30, 2024: Deborah D. Bond, 96, died at home in Bronxville on October 12, 2024.

She was born in Fall River, Massachusetts to Rhoda Thompson and Bradford Durfee. She grew up in Bronxville, NY.

Deborah attended Sophie Newcomb College, Tulane University. Prior to marriage she worked at Lord & Taylor, Fifth Avenue. After marrying Minor Bond, the couple raised 5 children in Bronxville.

At age 40, Debbie returned to Lord & Taylor, working as a buyer of gloves, needle point, and eventually coats. Her buying trips took her to Gloversville, NY, London, Paris Italy, Poland, Romania, Yugoslavia, Israel, Japan, Korea, The People’s Republic of China (Taiwan), Hong Kong, and Uruguay.

After her retirement, she and Minor lived in Williamsburg, Virginia where she volunteered at the Community Hospital and the Public Library.

Deborah’s husband Minor and grandson Jonathan Gould predeceased her. She is survived by her 5 children, Jennifer Gould (John Williams), Cecile (John) Wooster, Casey, Douglas (Andrea) Bond, Frederick (Mary-Louise) Bond, 12 grandchildren, Kate(Noah) Borun, Alexis Wooster, John Wooster, Emily (Peter) O’Keefe, Michael (Caroline) Bond, Carter Bond, Meghan (Jake) Bradley, Abby(Brandon) Lew,  Erin (Evan) Bond-Huber, Aidan Bond, Brooklyn Benedikt, Quinn Benedikt, and 6 great grandchildren.
