Gene R. Blendermann Passed Away on July 5, 2021

July 14, 2021: Gene R. Blendermann, an executive with Exxon Corporation for over 30 years, passed on July 5th, 2021.

He is survived by Vera Toscano Blendermann, his wife of 65 years, and by his daughters Lisa Blendermann Gomprecht (Paul Gomprecht), and Dara Blendermann Casey (Larry Casey) and by his brother Edmond Blendermann (Doris Blendermann). Gene was known as “Abuelito” to many and as “Ouito” to his grandchildren: Bryanna (Doug Michaud), Brennan, Cabrea and Kaegan Casey, and his great granddaughter Vera Michaud.

Gene graduated from the Missouri School of Mines in 1951 as a petroleum Engineer. He spent the next 30 years living and working overseas: 21 years in Venezuela, 7 years in Libya, and 2 years in Norway. Gene and his wife Vera traveled extensively.

He also loved golf, skiing, and fishing with his father (Eddie) and brother (Edmond) at his beloved "Little Red House" in south Jersey.

Gene is an icon to those that knew him, deeply loved and cherished by his family and friends of all ages, all over the world.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Fred H McGrath and Son Funeral Home at 20 Cedar Street in Bronxville, NY, on Thursday, July 15, 2021, from 3-6 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Gene's honor to either Reclam The Bay (reclamthebay.org/donate), a group working to keep the water clean in Tuckerton Bay and to restock their famous clams, or to The Bronxville Rotary Club Foundation, c/o Robert Seabring, Treasurer of the Bronxville Rotary Club Foundation, 18 Highland Circle, Bronxville NY 10708
