Nov. 20, 2013: Maryann Urrico of Bronxville, formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away on November 16, 2013, after a long illness. She was 70 years old.
She was the beloved wife of the late Victor J. Urrico and devoted daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Faiella. She leaves behind her loving sister, Angela Faiella, a niece, Marian Mamone, and cherished cousins Carmine, Tangry, and Joseph Ramunto, Louise Oriccio, Marco Ceritelli, and Charlotte Wilson.
Maryann worked for the Village of Bronxville as the administrative assistant to the building department and the department of public works for 39 years. Said Mayor Mary Marvin, "Maryann had a lifelong love for Bronxville and we treasured her in turn." "She was a very dedicated, hardworking public servant for the Village of Bronxville," added former Mayor Marcia Lee. "We all loved her and will miss her very much."
Rocco Circosta, superintendent of public works, to whom Maryann directly reported, said, "The Village of Bronxville Department of Public Works has lost a great friend this past weekend. Maryann touched all of our lives in one way or another and she will be sorely missed. Maryann was all about Bronxville. Most all residents in this village have dealt with Maryann over the years in one fashion or another and that was her greatest pleasure, 'serving the people.' She will be missed by all."
Village Administrator Harry Porr, on learning Maryann had passed away, had this to say: "Maryann Urrico was a wonderful woman who gave 39 years of her life in service to our village. She was a respected and cherished colleague. She was a true professional who found joy in helping others."
Prior to working for the village, Maryann was the head teller at Community Savings and Loan Bank in Mount Vernon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Church on Wednesday, November 20, at 10:00 am.
