Laura 'Molly' Fishburn Griffith Dies April 21, 2014, at 91

May 21, 2014:  Laura ("Molly") (Nickell) Fishburn Griffith, 91, formerly of Bronxville, died on Monday, April 21, 2014, in Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

Molly was born in Yonkers, New York, to the late H. Kennedy Nickell and the late Laura Thornton Wood Nickell. Molly was the widow of Junius R. Fishburn and Lewis S. Griffith.

A passionate person generous with her time, Molly was a volunteer with Planned Parenthood in Illinois and New York, the Junior League in Illinois, and the Westchester Children's Association in New York. She was a dedicated member of Christ Church Bronxville and served on its altar guild for many years.

Molly was known and cherished for her twinkling eyes, her big loving smile, and her welcoming embrace. With her enduring, cheerful enthusiasm, kindness, and gentility, she was fiercely devoted to family, friends, and church. Molly created a home that was a sanctuary of unconditional love and support. Her faith, ideals, and deeds built a lasting foundation by example, and her lessons in life and love will inspire us, and all who knew her, forever.

Molly is survived by her son, J. Blair Fishburn of Chevy Chase, Maryland; her daughter, Ann Cary Fishburn Orminski of Yakima, Washington; two stepsons, Scott Griffith of France and Chase Griffith of New York; a stepdaughter, Lucy Griffith Dargan of South Carolina; her brother, H. Kennedy Nickell, Jr. of North Carolina; and five grandchildren, C. Blair Palmer, Laura Lee Palmer, Bryan P.J. Fishburn, Kyle B. Fishburn, and Meghan F. Fishburn.

The family will host a memorial service on Saturday, May 31, at 1:00 pm at Christ Church, 17 Sagamore Road, Bronxville, New York 10708.

Memorial contributions in Molly's memory to her church at the above address are encouraged.
