William R. McAndrew, Jr., Dies February 14, 2015, at 64

Feb. 25, 2015: William R. McAndrew, Jr., of Rye, New York, formerly of Bronxville, died on Saturday, February 14, 2015, in Miami, Florida. He was 64 years old. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Dorado McAndrew, and his beloved son, William R. McAndrew, III.

Bill was born in Washington, DC, and moved to Bronxville, where he lived most of his life. He was the son of the late William R. (former president of NBC News & Sports) and Irene B. McAndrew. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Irene Collier and Mary McAndrew.

Bill attended St. Joseph School and Iona Grammar School and graduated from The Cranwell School. He attended Catholic University and received a BA from Fordham University in 1974. 

Bill worked for 15 years in the press department of NBC News as a media relations manager, responsible successively for Meet the Press, Nightly News, and The Today Show. Bill went on to become a public relations executive in private practice, with a long-standing and continuing relationship with INK Inc.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill's name to the American Diabetes Association.

A funeral mass at St. Joseph's Church in Bronxville was held on Monday, February 23.
