Carl H. Steinmuller, Former Bronxville Chief of Police, Dies June 2, 2016

Jun. 8, 2016:  Carl H. Steinmuller, retired chief of police of the Village of Bronxville, died on June 2, 2016. At the time of his death he lived in Rye, New York.

He is the beloved husband of the late Eileen, dear father of Marie (Scott) Fischer, and devoted grandfather of Eric. He is also the brother of Gin and uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Chief Steinmuller proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He then joined the Bronxville Police Department in 1952 and retired as chief of police in 1992.

Said former mayor Marcia Lee, who served while he was the chief, "He was a very fine, highly principled man, and very much dedicated to his job."

A funeral was held for Chief Steinmuller at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home on Monday, June 6.
