William L. Ellis, Jr. Passed Away on March 27, 2020

Apr. 15, 2020:  William L. Ellis, Jr. (Bill), of Bronxville, New York passed away on March 27, 2020, from complications due to Parkinson’s.

From St. Albans in Washington, D.C. Bill attended Yale, completing at Virginia Law School.

Concurrent with his years of military service including in the reserves, he focused on corporate counseling, mergers & acquisitions, governance, and compliance as well as Intellectual Property as General Counsel for many of the most influential
corporations.

Bill was very proud to have been President of the Bronxville Field Club, Director and Board Chairman of Abbott House and Pro Bono Partnership, where he was also a cofounder.

He was dedicated to philanthropy and non-profit service throughout his life while also enjoying Tennis and Paddle Tennis and had been known to be found at sunset fishing happily on the shores of Amagansett.

Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betsy, his sister Amy and her husband William Kilbourne, son Forbes and daughter Hilary, three grandchildren: Brooke, Kyle and Morgan, several cousins’ nieces and nephews, and his devoted poodle Bear.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to Calvary Hospital in Bronx, NY.
