June 12, 2024: Meet Lyla, a resilient 7-month-old, 40-pound pup rescued from a high-kill shelter. Her remarkable strength and endearing sweetness make her truly special. Lyla thrives on human interaction and is incredibly affectionate.
Though still a puppy, Lyla is mostly non-destructive and eager to learn good manners. She is highly food-motivated and eager to please, which makes training a breeze. Lyla is playful with other dogs and is already house- and crate-trained. She would love to have a canine companion of similar size once fully grown, as she adores playtime.
While her compatibility with cats and young children is uncertain, Lyla has never shown any aggression. She would do best with kids 12 and older due to her boundless energy, and tendency to mouth, and jump. She loves playtime, running, the outdoors, sticks, applesauce, and cuddling, but dislikes loud noises and being alone. Lyla knows how to sit and does well on a leash, and though she thrives on social interaction, she can also entertain herself.
Lyla's joyful nature shines through, and while she doesn't require another dog, she would certainly appreciate the companionship. A fenced yard is a must for her active lifestyle and her obsession with the great outdoors.
Lyla's perfect match is an active family with another dog and a love for outdoor playtime. She is eager to be part of a family and will need someone patient and willing to give her time to adjust to her new home, along with the ability to handle a mouthy puppy that needs some training for her manners.
